Background

Current fluid distribution systems can be divided into two classes: spraying and drip off systems. Spraying systems need a defined pressure to spread the fluid, thus requiring additional energy input. Drip off systems only use gravity and thus only require a specific hydrostatic height. Even so, those systems are generally less prone to dirt particles within the fluid they need methods to prevent soiling.

 

Technical Description

Aim of this technology is to provide a fluid distribution arrangement that is easy to produce and has an improved tolerance against soiling. Thus a distribution system has been developed that consist of at least 2 perforated shelfs whereby metal pins are plugged through the holes in a manner that they end slightly below the lower bottom. Between both shelfs is some free space through which the liquid can be passed into the system that is necessary to bathe the bundle of pipes located below the distribution system. Holes and pins are thus dimensioned that there is a small annular gap between them in the lower bottom that allows the fluid to run through the holes but that does enable dirt particles to cover the whole opening.

 

Potential Applications

The main application for such a distribution system will be in the area of overflowed tube bundle heat exchangers as they are for example used in absorption cooling plants. With this system it is possible to spread the fluid very easy and uniformly on the cooling plant by consistently low costs.

Das Präsidium der TU Berlin hat das Zentrum für geistiges Eigentum (ZfgE) mit dem Ziel ins Leben gerufen, den Technologietransfer an der TU Berlin zu vereinfachen und als zentrale Anlaufstelle für alle am Technologietransferprozess Beteiligten zu fungieren.

Im ZfgE werden die mit dem Technologietransfer zusammenhängende Gestaltung in der Praxis und die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit Fragen des geistigen Eigentums unter einem Dach zusammengefasst. Darüber hinaus soll das ZfgE der zentrale Ort für Forschung, Lehre und Weiterbildung auf dem Gebiet des Immaterialgüterrechts werden.
